At the minimum, each believer has at least one gift. Therefore it is possible that believers may have more than one gift. For example, the Apostle Paul had the gift of Apostle, prophet, and teacher. It is also possible that the believer may have more than one spiritual gift. A believer may not know what their spiritual gift is, but they have one regardless of whether they exercise it. The word translated, “each” or “each one” is emphatic in the original Greek. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good ( 1 Corinthians 12:7 ESV). Paul said the same thing to the Corinthians. He wrote these words to the Ephesians.īut grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift ( Ephesians 4:7 ESV).Īgain, there is the emphasis that each person has been gifted by Christ.
